New cryo-EM sample preparation equipment arrives in the lab

We are excited to announce that our lab has just received brand-new ERC-funded equipment dedicated to cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) sample preparation. This marks an important milestone for our group and will allow us to kickstart our structural biology research.

With this new setup, we can now prepare high-quality vitrified samples directly in the lab. This infrastructure will support several ongoing and upcoming projects, including our work on trans-splicing, RNA–protein complexes, and ribosome biogenesis in kinetoplastid parasites.

Establishing in-house cryo-EM sample preparation capacity is a major step forward for the lab and the structural biology community at ULiège, and we are thrilled to integrate these tools into our research pipeline. Stay tuned for more updates as we begin generating our first grids!
